Tom Krebs is a Professor of Macroeconomics and Economic Policy at the University of Mannheim. In his research he studies how economic policy affects standard macroeconomic variables (growth, unemployment, interest rates) as well as indicators of the well-being of individual households (inequality, welfare). His research covers a wide range of policy issues: tax policy, labor market policy, trade policy, stabilization policy, and education policy, among others. The results of his work have been published in international academic journals and have been used in policy reports for the IMF, World Bank, BMWi, and Bertelsmann Foundation. Additional information can be found here: CV.

Tom Krebs is also the coordinator of the DFG (German Research Foundation) priority program “Financial Market Imperfections and Macroeconomic Performance”. This is a research network of about 50 researchers who work on 20 different projects. More information about the research program can be found here.

Tom Krebs is currently the director of graduate studies in economics at the University of Mannheim. See the webpage of the Center for Doctoral Studies in Economics (CDSE) for more information about the Ph.D. program in economics at Mannheim University.
